Using GeoWorld, we have started something new and unique that we wanted to share with you.

As many of you know, GeoWorld is the largest online networking platform for geotechnical engineers. The network has been growing steadily and includes 7,000+ geo-professionals and geo-companies. One thing that we noticed with all networking platforms, (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and yes, GeoWorld etc.) is that although valuable information is being posted by individuals, it is “lost” in the noise. The signal to noise ratio is just too low! In other cases, you are simply not “connected” with the right people, your network is too small.

So, we launched the first issue of "Geo-Trends Review" magazine, that will now be published quarterly. What is special about “Geo-Trends Review”, is that geotechnical professional editors, data-mine the activity of GeoWorld members (i.e., posts, updates, blogs, news, questions) and if the content is of broad interest and valuable, it is selected to be featured in the magazine that is distributed within GeoWorld and other channels (such as this one).
Thus, the content of the magazine is produced by the professionals themselves, but then it is “screened” by editors. This empowers individuals who produce useful content and could not normally reach a wide audience (unless they spent hundreds of hours building their network) to reach the profession at large.

The magazine is designed to reflect GeoWorld's dynamic and unique content! Geo-Trends magazine, is full of news, members’ blog posts, questions, answers and photo albums. Every issue will keep geotechs in touch with what is trending in geotechnical engineering globally. It includes the hottest, most exciting news that our members post!
