Our Software Engineering & Digital Services team has completed the redesign and relaunch of the official mobile application for the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE), now live on both Android and iOS.

Project Overview

The ISSMGE app serves as a mobile extension of the Society’s existing web platform, giving members and the wider geotechnical engineering community structured, on-the-go access to Society content and services. Rather than a simple wrapper, the rebuild focused on restructuring core content flows (Society data, publications, and events) into native mobile experiences optimized for both platforms.

Key Modules Delivered

• Society Data Layer: structured access to corporate associates, technical committees, board-level committees, and member societies, synced from the ISSMGE platform.
• Content & Publications: news feed, event listings, full bulletin archive, and integration with the ISSMGE online library (spanning thousands of publications).
• Push Notification System: real-time notification infrastructure to deliver timely updates on Society news and changes directly to members’ devices.

Technical Approach

The app was built as a cross-platform release for iOS and Android, designed with a modular architecture to support ongoing feature rollout without requiring structural rework. This positions the platform for iterative delivery, with additional features and integrations planned in subsequent releases, consistent with our approach to long-term digital platform ownership rather than single-delivery engagements.
