We are excited to announce that GeoWorld, the biggest online professional networking site for geotechnical engineers and associated fields, introduced the Geotechnical Business Confidence Index (GBCI) two years ago and thousands of participants shared their view. GBCI is intended to measure quarterly the short-term (1-year) and long-term (5-year) expectations for business conditions in geotechnical companies throughout the world.

GeoWorld, which is part of Argo-E infrastructure network, analyzed anonymously the data and processed it spatially to get an assessment of what the industry is doing. For example, the 1yr-GBCI in the United States dropped this last quarter and seems to reach its lowest value since January 2017. Similarly, the 1yr-GBCI for India, that has been rising, seems to be dropping too. Is this a bad omen for what we will come in the future? Only time will tell...
